How does microsuction differ to water irrigation or syringing?
The eardrum is a very sensitive and delicate structure and to syringe an ear successfully water and some wax will hit against the eardrum.
Whereas with microsuction we just latch onto the wax and pull it out or if it is very soft it just gets sucked up the suction probe.
Therefore microsuction can be carried out as often as required without causing any stress on the ear drum.
What softening product do you recommend?
No pre treatment is needed or recommended with olive oil or ear drops. However, on the day of treatment one or two drops of olive oil can be beneficial.
How quickly can I have my treatment?
Same day, weekend and out of hours visits can be made according to availability.
Is the treatment painful?
No, microsuction is fast and comfortable and you will be left wax free and smiling. There may be a whizzing sensation with a bit of noise.
